Adaptronics
Adaptronics describes the area of technology in which a new class of so-called intelligent structures is created. This concept deals with the development of adaptive systems that adapt to different operating conditions by means of autonomous, i.e. self-regulating mechanisms. The prerequisite is an optimum linkage of sensors and actuators on the basis of new functioning materials like piezoceramic fibers and films using adaptive regulators. Adaptronics therefore simultaneously takes on supporting as well as actuator / sensor tasks, making it a multifunctional technology. [Details ...]
