The European Center of Adaptive Systems (ECAS) was founded in May 2005 and it will systematically consolidate specific activities in research, development and application and serve as integration platform.

Based on state initiatives, the economic policy and the policy of technological development focusses on a selected number of technologies. One of them is Adaptronics.
